Soft yet striking front elevation created with the reach of the cantilevering roof, this home is something special. A beautiful play on form and function, clerestory windows running the perimeter of the living areas and allowing for continuous natural light into the home from all angles. The brief was for a timeless design with lots of natural light and warmth, two roof design with thermal mass and textural materials.

Creating a beach house that is unexpected in style and will still sit within the landscape comfortably was the focus. With the north facing elevation looking towards the road, we wanted to create privacy while also allowing for large windows to gain natural light. We decided to sit the house back from the road, maximising a front yard and distance between the road and the home.

The homes interiors are coastal inspired and allow for a low maintenance beach lifestyle. With grandkids and a lovely dog coming in and out of the home, the space needed to be flexible and have an ease to the style. Nothing too precious or overdone, a home that welcomes sandy feet.
